Sedona area road construction through the end of 2009:
For our guests arriving on Saturday and Sunday from Phoenix should expect long delays from road construction on the 179 route. An alternate route from the Phoenix area would be to use 89 instead. Take 17 to Cottonwood and then take 89 to Sedona. Alternately, you could go on to Flagstaff and head south on 89 back into Sedona.
Traveling to Resort from the North:
From Salt Lake City- Approx: 563 miles or 11 1/2 Hrs driving time. Come south on I-15 to US 89 to Flagstaff after going thru the city you will see the first exit of 89A traveling south west to the Y intersection at Hwy 179. Resort on right.
Traveling to Resort from the South:
From Tucson Az. approx: 344 miles or 6 Hrs. driving time. Go Northwest on I-10 to Phoenix then take I-17 north out of Phoenix , Just south of Flagstaff you will see Hwy 179 branch off of I-17 continue on Hwy 179 to the Y intersection at 89A.
Traveling to Resort from the East:
From Albuquerque N.M. approx: 299 miles or 5 ¼ hours driving time. Go west on I-40 from Albuquerque at exit 195 Flagstaff go south on I-17/89A to the Y intersection at Hwy 179. Resort on right.
Traveling to Resort from the West:
From Los Angeles Ca. approx 574 miles or 9 3/4 hours driving time. Follow I-40 into Flagstaff go south on I-17/ 89A to the Y intersection at Hwy 179. Resort on right.

Estimated driving time – 2 hours. Travel north on Interstate 17 (to Flagstaff) for approximately 98.4 miles to Exit 298. (You will not see a sign that mentions Sedona until approximately 2 miles before the Sedona exit.) Exit and turn left (West) onto SR-179. Follow SR-179 North to Sedona, through the Village of Oak Creek. Travel 14.2 miles to the intersection of 179 and Highway 89A. At the traffic light (the intersection of SR-179 and 89A), go straight into the Hyatt Piñon Pointe property on the other side of the intersection.
